Earlier this year (2012), Falken Tire released a high performance tire line to market, called, Azenis. This tire is different than other tires currently on the market. The Azenis tire is a blend of rubber and "silica enriched compounds". This allows for better traction, since more rubber is able to make contact with the pavement. In other words- this tire performs better, the harder you push it.

A race slick version of this tire is used on a 2012 Porsche GT3 RSR race car. This vehicle will compete in the 2012 American Le Mans Series. The tire has already brought the team two victory's in the GT class.
